US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in “Israel” today to push for a much awaited ceasefire between the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) and the Islamic Resistance Movements (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip.

Blinken, who embarked on a regional tour, said earlier in Amman that Hamas should accept the latest ceasefire proposal and release the “Israeli” captives it is currently holding in Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023.

His Majesty King Abdullah II received Antony Blinken for a meeting attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein at Al Husseiniya Palace earlier today, where he stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip.

His Majesty warned of the consequences of a military operation in Rafah, stressing that the disastrous effects of the ongoing war in Gaza could expand to include areas in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the entire region.

His Majesty underscored the importance of supporting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which he described as a lifeline for about two million Palestinians in Gaza, in addition to providing essential services to Palestinian refugees in its areas of operation.
